Herself Satisfied

With the room still spinning, she loses herself inside

The toxins, ravaging the body, surge through her veins

One more drink, one more hit—satisfied

Voices kept coming to peak by the bedside

Of the mattress where she woke gasping for remains

With the room still spinning, she loses herself inside

“Have a seat,” “you’re playing catch up,” “Come along for the ride”

“Now breathe it in,” “there ya’ go,” “Have you tried this strain?”

One more drink, one more hit—satisfied

She forces a laugh, replaying the party where she “died”

Washing out her dress, its spilled whiskey stains

With the room still spinning, she loses herself inside

How did I let this happen?, she asks wide-eyed

And dismayed. She lifts her head through great pains

One more drink, one more hit—satisfied

Between her and the truth lies a deep divide

Wishing she could hide, stay home and watch the rain

The room still spins, she’s lost herself inside

One more drink, one more hit—satisfied
